Lesley Ann Gibbons

Co-Owner and Founder, she has worked alongside Mark since they were married in 1992. Lesley is the COO, or “Chief of Other Stuff No One Wants to Take Care Of". In addition to her role at Sterling Adaptives, she has served on the Earle Baum Center Board, the Employment LINK California Board and was a governor-appointed member and Past Chair of the California State Rehabilitation Council from 2014 to 2020. When not taking care of the "stuff", Lesley Ann can usually be found Face Timing with their granddaughters or trying to stay fit and healthy!

Monique Larre

Administrative Director / Technical Lead, joined Sterling Adaptives in 2015 on a part-time basis. Her role quickly shifted to a full-time Sterling team member - and a vital one, at that! Monique splits her days between the general running of the office and showroom, overseeing the purchasing, bookkeeping, marketing, and technical support. She not only pre-configures the accessible technology for all computer systems, but also provides remote technical support for end users' equipment, including - but not limited to - email, software, printer, and other peripherals.

John Taylor

Products Specialist, focusing on all things technology related to Braille and Low Vision for education in Northern California. John joined the Sterling Adaptives team in August of 2019 but came bringing ten years of experience in the assistive technology industry. John got his start with Assistive technology, working with Braille embossers and tactile graphics at ViewPlus Technologies and Irie-AT, where he focused on being a national trainer on braille embossers and tactile graphics, and low vision products. In John's free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn son, helping others, and when he has the time, he can usually be found camping or fishing. When asked what motivates and inspires you, John says that more than anything, it's the people that he gets to rub shoulders with each day. He says, " At the end of the day, I feel like I did some good, and made a difference in someone's life.”

Sarah Phillips

Account Administrator, joined Sterling Adaptives in 2021 and supports the team with quotes, inside sales, website updates and marketing. Sarah has a Purchasing background and an AA degree in Graphic Design. Sarah's interests include arts and crafts, Harry Potter marathons, 80's movies, hiking and scenic drives to the ocean. She has an older brother with mental disabilities that have posed both a challenge and blessing in her life. Helping her single mom from a young age forced her to grow up quickly and learn what it truly means to work hard, have patience and be empathetic to those around us.

Vicki Jimmerson

Office Assistant, joined the team in 2022 to manage our field staff schedules. It's a complicated and demanding job, but she does it with humor and grace. Of course, as a mom of three adult kids and four grandchildren, she's had plenty of practice! Among her other wonderful attributes, Vicki's bilingual skills also prove immensely useful when it's needed. She's also been designated the office Water Controller, ensuring that we all (including the plants) get enough water during the day.

Macayla Sedeno

Administrative Assistant, has worked for Sterling Adaptives since 2018. Much of her day is spent setting up new computer systems, but she also assists with the daily functions of the office, including shipping, data entry and filing. Macayla is also a full time student pursuing a career as an ASL interpreter. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her family and her dogs Tilly and Stormy. Macayla is inspired to learn from the others on the team and help wherever she is needed.

Damien Crane

Assistive Technology Specialist, joined the team in 2023 and provides technical support both in and outside of the office. When not on the road helping customers at their homes, Damien spends his time at the office catching up with the team and refreshing his product knowledge. Damien enjoys running his dog and staying outdoors in his spare time with his wife and daughter. Damien loves a challenging hike, but never complains about an easy day by the water. If you ask him about coffee, he'll probably spend the next thirty minutes talking about the ins and outs of the trade!

Amber Brasil

Accounting Administrator, joined Sterling Adaptives in 2022 on a temporary basis, but quickly determined that she wanted a permanent position. Amber brings with her 10+ years of experience in the banking and accounting industries. When not on a new adventure with her husband and son, Amber enjoys reading, watching classic films, creating new organizational systems at home and attempting to garden. With a profound love for learning, she strives for continuous personal growth and has a firm belief that knowledge can empower us all to make a difference.

Tilly & Stormy

Tilly (left), Barketing Director, joined us in 2021. In her spare time she enjoys cuddling on the couch, playing with her toys, and playtime with her sister Stormy. Tilly currently works a hybrid schedule alternating between the office, home, and doggy daycare.

Stormy (right), Chief Morale Pawfficer, is the newest member of our team. After spending her first years in the fast paced corporate world of San Francisco she decided she needed more work-life balance. She wanted to be closer to family, so she moved north to be with her sister Tilly. She enjoys spending her working days checking in with each team member to ensure office morale stays high.

Tetley

UPDATE: We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Tetley. We are thankful for the many years of joy and companionship he brought to us all here at Sterling Adaptives and at home.

Chief Pawfficer, handles the regulation of naps and treats for the team. He has been with the company for 8 years. Prior to that, he spent 6 years as merely a family pet. In his spare time, Tetley enjoys sleeping and sniffing other dogs. He believes that dogs were put on the Earth to provide their humans with unconditional love. Tetley is obsessed with making sure the mailman feels appreciated for bringing in the mail.
