Developed by HumanWare in collaboration with American Printing House and the National Federation of the Blind, the Monarch incorporates our highly renowned KeySoft application suite and is designed to enhance braille learning, classroom engagement and workplace integration.
Key Features
The Monarch, about the size of a 15-inch gaming laptop, features a Perkins style keyboard and bright orange navigation buttons. It boasts sensors for gesture and touch manipulation, braille keyboard input, and enhanced note taker applications. Designed with an intuitive interface and controls, the device provides a seamless experience tailored to the needs of blind users.
Dual functionality
The Monarch's 10-line by 32-cell refreshable braille display can simultaneously show braille text and tactile graphics. It allows for the reading of text and braille documents in multiple lines, just like reading braille on paper, with customizable line spacing that helps younger learners adapt more easily to refreshable braille technology by using double line spacing. With over 1,800 searchable tactile graphics, it enables users to interact with and better comprehend complex concepts through touch.
